Townview Big D Band
Band Director Emeritus, Mr. Dean Hill, a three-time Teacher of the Year recipient, and 2015 Top 100 of Dallas Independent School District’s best teachers, led the Yvonne A. Ewell Townview band program to be one of Dallas’s best all-around band programs for the past 25+ years.
The current staff includes, Director of Bands, Mr. James Gipson, Associate Director of Bands, Mr. Bryant Ward, Percussion Instructor (Dynasty Rep), Mr. Jerry Walker.
The Townview Big “D” Band Program is comprised of students from 6 Exemplary-Rated co-located high schools at the Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Magnet Center. Our School for the Talented and Gifted has been ranked No. 1 for the fifth consecutive year by US News and World Report as the Best High School in the Nation and Our School of Science and Engineering ranked No. 4.
